Comanche Nation Housing Authority Supports the 2011 Comanche Nation Fair
Monday, September 12, 2011 - Lawton, OK
The CNHA was once
again proud to support the annual Comanche Nation Fair. Along
with countless hours of preparation, dedicated CNHA employees and
family members volunteered their time and effort to host the 1K Fun
Run event and decorate and operate the CNHA float for the
parade.
The 1K Fun Run event was a huge success this year with over 140 registered runners of all ages and in some cases entire families. The event was free to the public and consisted of six individual age-bracket races. Wal-mart gift cards were awarded to the top three places of each race. A free fruit and water station was available and all participants received a free Comanche Nation Housing Authority / 20th Annual Comanche Nation Fair t-shirt.
The CNHA also entered a float in the Comanche Nation Fair Parade this year. CNHA maintenance employees built the main structure of the float that featured buffalo, a teepee, a modern house, and of course the Comanche Nation flag. CNHA office personnel decorated the float and applied the finishing touches. Employees and family members in traditional Comanche dress road on the float and passed out candy and t-shirts to the eager public.
