In the process of
providing safe, affordable housing for Native American families
living within the service area designated by the Medicine Lodge
Treaty of 1886 (Caddo, Comanche, Cotton, Kiowa and Tillman
Counties) of the CNHA, it has been determined that many Native
American families have the credit history and financial potential
to secure a home loan from a private lender. The purpose of
the Down Payment & Closing Cost Grant is to provide assistance
with all costs associated with the closing of a home mortgage
loan.

Participants must complete this application and provide the following documentation listed below.
- Copy of the loan approval letter from bank
- Copy of the contract and estimated closing cost
- Copy of last 2 pay stubs
- Copy of last two year's W-2's (If self-employed, complete copy of last year's Tax Returns, including ALL schedules)
- If Social Security, Retirement or Disability income used must have copy of most recent awards letter showing monthly benefit
- Copy of driver's license and social security card for each applicant (not children)
- Copy of CDIB cards
The CNHA must be informed by the applicant of all related costs to the purchase of the home including; down payment, earnest money, appraisal fee, home inspection, etc. The Down Payment & Closing Cost Grant covers these expenses up to $4999.00.
Once the CNHA receives a settlement statement from the lender, the DP & CC Grant funds will be issued on the next available check day.
Clients who receive Grant Funding do not have to pay back the CNHA for the amount received; unless the client sells the home within the first 6 months of purchasing the home.
Q: How do I get qualified for a Down Payment and
Closing Cost Grant through the CNHA?
A: Client must fill out a complete application.
Q: Do I have to be a first time homebuyer?
A: No, but you cannot have been a previous recipient of the
grant.
Q: What expense does the Down Payment & Closing
Cost Grant Cover?
A: Earnest money, appraisal fee, home inspection fee or any
other monies needed for closing.
Q: Do I have to repay the Down Payment & Closing
Cost Grant that I receive from the CNHA?
A: Not if you do not sell the house within the first 6 months
of receiving the DP & CC Grant from the CNHA.
