Housing Management

 

The Comanche Nation Housing Authority provides low income housing thru the following programs.  NOTE:  To qualify for any of these programs you must meet the income eligibility requirement as shown here.

 

Low Rent Program

The Low Rent Program provides affordable housing to low income single persons or Indian families; defined by the CNHA as a family whose head of household or spouse is an enrolled member of a federally recognized tribe, with preference given to enrolled Comanche Tribal Members.

Student Housing Program

The Student Housing Program provides affordable housing to single persons or Indian families of low income full-time students attending one of the following institutions: Cameron University, Comanche Nation College, Platt College, or Great Plains Technology Center.  CNHA has eight 1-bedroom and eight 2 bedroom apartments dedicated to student housing along with a limited number of 3 bedroom houses that are used when available.

Homeownership Lease Purchase Program

The Homeownership Lease Purchase Program has been developed to provide low income enrolled tribal members of the Comanche Nation an alternative financing approach to conventional homeownership programs. This program is to be applied to all new houses constructed or purchased after January 2011. The Housing Authority will build new homes or purchase new homes and serve as the financing agency utilizing the HUD Section 184 Indian Housing Loan Guarantee Program or other Federal loan guarantee programs.
